‘The refuge of the marvelous’, ‘the office of reveries’, ‘the kingdom of dreams’… all these poetic images illustrate the world of couture described by Christian Dior’s own pen. This enchantment had a very long spell on me as I was marching through life, trying to discover myself first and the world around me second. Fashion has always fascinated and inspired me in the truest sense of the word. I remember admiring my mother’s dresses. I remember analyzing the patterns that took my imagination on realms unknown to me at that age. I remember my mother’s silky dress with a print of big dark red roses; I could spot her from a million women out there. Oh, and her shoes… her golden shoes that she almost never wore. Those were the most fabulous shoes I’ve ever seen. They were sandals. Nobody had sandals like hers. And her wedding dress. Her wedding dress revealed my eternal fascination with lace. I love lace. I love it in all colors, but especially in white and black. I love velvet too. “Fabric is the sole vehicle of our dreams. And fashion, in sum, comes from a dream, and dreams are an escape”, wrote Monsieur Dior in his memoirs. Like an echo of this “dream fabric”, you will discover in these pages, stories that will throw you in different emotional pots. My real fashion journey started in Montreal, Canada, where I met incredible people that shaped my propensity towards the fashion world. Icetime Luxe brought me close to all the global designer brands. It opened new pathways and new dreams came alive. The Luxury District Magazine seemed to be a necessary project. There is just too much energy in the fashion beauty, and this energy begs to be shared, enjoyed, and celebrated. The magazine is meant to bring the newest news in the luxury fashion and to emphasize the successful people both local and international, that created something to give back to the Universe. We want to celebrate these people; we want to be them.
