Laura showcasing her modeling prowess

An inspiring story of a farm girl from Uruguay cat-walking her career ladder up to become an internationally recognized model and a sustainable clothing designer.

Laura was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, into a family of four children. While she looks back on her childhood with fondness,

Laura’s early life was far from glamorous in the traditional sense. Instead, she lived a modest life on a farm and spent her days playing soccer barefoot on the street after school and tending to their chicken and ducks.

Another important part of Laura’s upbringing was her faith. Some of her earliest memories occurred in the local church, where kind people supplied her family with clothes and shoes. It was during these early years that Laura established her lifelong relationship with God.

Her love of her family and God fortified her to make a life-changing move to the United States when she was sixteen. While there, she lived with her sister, learned English, and met her first love. Then, after graduating high school, she returned to Uruguay and began working in a dentist office, only to find she was destined for something more.

So, she set out to pursue a modeling career. Her work took her around the world – Brazil, Argentina, Spain, Italy, the United States – just to name a few.

Always an avid learner, Laura worked on Prada sales campaigns for over three years, studying different fabrics and their underrated significance.

She then took her talents to Stella McCartney, Jil Sander, and Neil Barrett – each taught her something different, allowing her to develop her skills and network of contacts.

Combining her knowledge of textiles with her farm life background, she began using recycled products in her designs – so much so that she created her own clothing line in Tuscany called “Fingerprint,” which included ‘40s-originated patterned tuxedo jackets. She offered them for sale in highly acclaimed stores in Paris, England, and Italy.

Laura credits her creativity and entrepreneurial spirit to her father, who was an inventor back home in Uruguay. After fifteen in Europe, she reconnected with her high school sweetheart David Roberston. Their relationship quickly blossomed, and they soon married and welcomed a beautiful girl, Sophia.

Then, the pandemic altered their lives in 2020. In the chaos, Laura searched for a hobby to foster her relationship with God. Consequently, she developed a passion for painting, amazed by how she discovered something new with each piece she created. She loves how her imagination knows no bounds on the canvas, enabling her to paint beautiful abstract images that reflect her innermost thoughts and steadfast devotion to her faith.

Today, her work is renowned for the religious themes and emotional rawness present throughout. Through the years, Laura has remained grateful to God and His divine intervention for all her success and fortune, forever thanking Him for the opportunities to do what she loves most, surrounded by her loved ones. Her inspiring story reminds us that when we follow our dreams, purpose and fulfillment are guaranteed.
